Photovoice Workshop
PhotoVoice is a process where members of a community take photos that capture their views about particular issues or concepts. Originally used in community development in urban areas, PhotoVoice is increasingly being used to explore thinking and perceptions on environmental issues around the globe. It is an opportunity to provide images that can then be used for communication, engagement, and advocacy to ensure community voices are heard.
To participate, capture up to three photos for each of the following prompts:
Photos that highlight what you love about Lake Tyers
Photos that show what concerns you have for the Lake and its catchment
Submit your photos to livingbungyarnda@gmail.com. Be sure to indicate which prompts your photos relate to.
Living Bung Yarnda Community Survey
The Living Bung Yarnda Community Survey is now live! We hope to learn more about your connection to Lake Tyers, its environment and people, your concerns and hopes for the future. Please share this link far and wide as we hope to capture a broad range of views and experiences around Lake Tyers.
Follow this link to the survey. It should only take around 15 minutes to complete. All responses will be treated confidentially. You will not be named in any research outputs, including publications, presentations or other published material.
Any questions please contact Dr. Jess Reeves (j.reeves@federation.edu.au) or Dr. Pat Bonney (p.bonney@federation.edu.au).

Living Bung Yarnda Training Workshops
The Living Bung Yarnda project is a series of environmental monitoring training sessions on February 20th and 21st. All interested community members are invited to learn how monitor birds, fish, water quality, vegetation and the impacts of invasive deer and learn more about this exciting project.
“The training sessions will equip people with the tools that environmental managers use to better understand the impacts and changes in the lake and its catchment” says Dr. Jess Reeves, project facilitator of Living Bung Yarnda. During the training sessions, participants will be provided information on data collection protocols, communicating and submitting data to citizen science databases as well as how to extract and use the data.
The sessions – held at various suitable venues around Lake Tyers – will be led by monitoring specialists from organisations across East Gippsland, including the CMA, Birdlife East Gippsland, FishCare, Landcare and Wildlife Unlimited. You are welcome to come to as many or few as you like.
For further information, please contact Jess Reeves at j.reeves@federation.edu.au or 0425 772 505.
