Who we are

Lake Tyers Coast Action was founded in 1996.

Our mission is to celebrate, explore, and advocate for the health of our local environment in its diversity and richness.

Our aim is to educate and maintain this cherished and vibrant area in a wild and healthy state, fostering a community that connects with and respects this special place.

For 30 years our small but active group has monitored, educated and advocated for the rich and diverse lake, estuary, beach and bushland ecosystems, flora and fauna that thrive here. We have gathered robust baseline data on vegetation succession and significant fauna to inform our actions and advocacy to protect this diverse and intact place.

Our Partners

We work with like-minded groups within the East Gippsland Landcare Network – Lakes Entrance Landcare, and Oneonta - a bushland property held in trust for the purpose of environmental education.

The East Gippsland Conservation Management Network shares our focus on promoting protecting and restoring local stands of coastal rainforest

We seek to build relationships and share knowledge with land managers like Parks Victoria and East Gippsland Shire to understand how our natural areas function and are changing, how threats to natural values can be addressed, and how management actions like track maintenance and burning can be balanced with healthy habitats for flora and fauna.
